**Orias stayed just long enough to hear Slare and Luca’s words. He wanted revenge – more than anything else in the world. He’d waited so long to get his brother back for his past injustices. Synn and Kadum had both stopped him from doing so and the continued waiting was driving him insane. Nevertheless, a respectful nod was forced from him, directed to the God and the Elemental. A few muttered words of thanks and understanding offered.**
**He knew himself now what Kadum seemed capable of. That man was more than willing to manipulate others through his position. It’d be truly hideous if he did gain control of the angel race. It just didn’t bear thinking about.**
**Power and magic flowed around him, engulfed the entirety of his huge form and gradually, he vanished. He planned to teleport right into the midst of them – so he could just rip those morons limb from limb without them expecting it. The element of surprise meant a lot to him – and it was the very thing he planned to call on now.**
**Synn, in the meanwhile, had cast a deeply amused look to Kadum. So… did he want to play it that way? Fine by him. One way or another, Tararus was his. The angel himself – looked unwilling to answer at the moment, his gaze moving anxiously between the two Gods. Synn wouldn’t roll over and take that so easily. He couldn’t deny it – Synn had always frightened him – he was dangerous, aggressive and scheming.**
“He’s yours now, hmm? Is that right?”
**Synn lazily turned his gaze, toward Hydaoshi, glancing the leader-general up and down with the faintest of smiles. Hydaoshi stared back – he didn’t like the Shadow God’s look. Synn had that look about him – a dark thoughtfulness that just wasn’t right. The God’s voice touched the air all too soon – directed this time at him.**
“Hydaoshi, what’s wrong? You look a little irritated. Get up.”
**The leader-general adopted a deeply confused look as he pulled himself up, glancing from one God to another. Synn kept that dark, evil smile for the time being, allowing his gaze to flicker back to Tararus for a moment.**
“Hydaoshi, perhaps attacking Kadum would be entertaining, hmm? Do it. Don’t let him tell you otherwise.”
**Hydaoshi didn’t need telling twice. Before his instincts even led him to obey, he’d moved. He’d wanted vengeance on this moron for quite some time. His huge 9ft form darting at Kadum in what he aimed to be a devastating charge. Hydaoshi was fast and muscular – normally his combined weight and height were more than enough to bowl opponents over.**
**Synn kept the vaguely entertained look – right up until the moment a huge figure appeared between Tararus and him. Orias – he turned, dived right at his younger brother, pinning him easily to the ground. Oh dear. This could be difficult. Then again – he had two other pawns to play with in the forms of Kamida and Toukard. Tararus wasn’t all that important. Yet, the dark angel was his key into the angel realms…**
“Orias. Off him. Now.”
**The huge angel tensed. He hadn’t been ordered to ignore Synn. Damn it. His head slumped forward, frustrated beyond compared. It wasn’t fair… God, it wasn’t fair. Yet – he hadn’t been ordered not to harm Kadum… this was all his fault, after all. Putting that idea of domination into his brother’s head – as if he needed any encouraging.**
**He pulled himself from his brother’s crumpled form, turned his glare from Synn to Kadum and… Hydaoshi? Synn acting for them? That didn’t make sense. Was deeply confusing, actually. The Shadow God was… well, evil. Malicious. Why on earth would he want to do anything like this? Help them, by the looks of it…**
“That’s a very good point, Orias. To be honest, I’m not sure. Hmm. You think I should stick by my own kind? Very well. Hydaoshi – enough.”
**Synn pulled the thoughts from the huge angel’s head and acted on them before he could be stopped. Hydaoshi spun his form away from Kadum’s – acting fast. Energy built up around him, fired out to aim a blast at Tararus. It connected with fantastic force, sending the dark angel flying. Synn did nothing to help the angel – just watched Kadum for a moment, waited to see what he did.**
_____________
"Luca, you ought to go as well. You know better than I do that such a struggle is beneficial to you....and we just might need that strength." The elemental nodded, and merely faded from sight, he appearing not far from where the action was taking place, a surge of energy rocketing towards him, a smile creeping over his lips as he felt the power infuse with him, a new strength coming to his limbs, he flexed his fingers. No visible change had come over him, he still looked the same. The power, the strength however, oh it was there. His eyes flashed. "Give me more..."
Kadum was glaring at Synn. "You lapsed your protection after all Synn. Why would I not leap at the chance to have such a valuable ally at my side?" However at the words spoken to Hydaoshi he tensed, unprepared for the blow, and finding himself knocked to the ground, back hitting the wall of the cave a whoosh of air escaping him. This was not what Kadum was meant for. Battles and fights were not his forte. Causing them was. So he was at a distinct disadvantage now. He sat there a bit stunned, wondering what Orias was doing there as well. Unfortunately for him, at the moment two plus two was rapidly equaling fish. ____________________
**Synn could feel a new presence vaguely nearby – didn’t let it concern him. He merely pushed his way past Orias on his trip over to his extremely-battered brother. Hydaoshi wouldn’t dare fire another blast at him when Synn was in the way. He valued his own life far too much to do that. Yet… both Orias and Hydaoshi glared. Had a dark, evil look to them. Both angels were severely p*ssed off. It was easy to bet that, should Saine be conscious, he’d be sort of aggravated too. Synn knelt at Tararus’s side, placed a hand on the unconscious angel’s shoulder, eyes flicking back to Kadum, an evil smile crossing those deceptively-young features once again.**
“Kadum…You always did amuse me. You could so easily take command all by yourself – without the need for my servant. As it is, let’s see how entertaining we can make things, hmm?”
**Orias had taken a few steps back. The urge to just obliterate both Tararus and Kadum was overpowering. Yet – with Synn there it was difficult. The Shadow God still held power over him. That was the problem. That was why it just wasn’t fair. Why did things never go his way? Why, just once, couldn’t things go smoothly? Completely to plan. Seemed that the plan that Luca and Slare had formulated had gone entirely out the window now. That was why, he’d moved to the unconscious Saine’s side – was checking him silently for injury. That’d keep his attentions away from the morons around him at least for a little while.**
**Hydaoshi, though, once again came under the Shadow God’s gaze. The leader-general shivered. Whatever Synn was planning couldn’t be good. He’d recognised the look he had now from the horror-stories he’d been told when he was very young. Synn was plotting – and when Synn schemed, you tended to get out of the way lest you become part of the idea.**
“Hydaoshi…”
**Too late to run now. The leader-general visibly blanched – whatever was going to come from the Shadow God’s lips next wasn’t going to be very beneficial – he could just see it coming.**
“You’re the acting-leader of the angel race. Kadum evidently wants that role. He apparently can’t do it without an insider’s help – hence why he’s tried to take my pawn away from me. You, though… you are the ultimate insider. Tararus… well, we’ll see what he actually wants to do when he wakes up. However, I’d wager that Kadum wants a pawn of his own. One that’s truly his. So, Hydaoshi – guess what your new role is? Slave to the God of Deceit seems to suit you.”
**The Shadow God paused, stood to give a sceptical, superior gaze up to the far larger, stunned-looking angel. Hydaoshi looked visibly sickened now. He was one to strongly value his freedom and his own independence. This would close-to destroy him.**
“Besides… that’ll teach you for taking a pot-shot at Tararus, now won’t it?”
__________
Luca stayed out of vision range, though he figured that around a bunch of Angels and Gods he'd be sensed anyhow. He wasn't exactly concerned. He grinned as he felt the flow of energy and power surging through him. The conflict going on inside that cave merely fed his strength. Sure he didn't LOOK any larger, stronger, changed. It was all in the muscles, how much damage he could inflict now, despite his relatively puny size. It increased exponentially, and it took a lot to reduce his powers once they were gained, though it could be done. Had been done in the past. The Strife Elemental edged towards the cave, watching.
Kadum looked at Synn, a grin on his lips "Yes well, when you abandoned him, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use what was so conventiently available to me. Can't fault me there." and when he heard Synn's words, he grinned, a malicious thing as he realized what it meant to have Hydaoshi as his pawn, his eyes glinted dangerously. "Ooooh. With Hydaoshi, I'm sure I could relinquish Tararus back to you, though I may still require his help in....stirring up problems as it were. Who better than the ultimate traitor of the Angels for such a role after all?"
Slare, back in his own little cave had just finished a meditation of sorts, bringing himself to the proper state of mind. As he lifted his head, his eyes were void of emotion, a mask if you will. He rose to his feet smoothly and strode out of the cave, towards where he could feel Luca, and his brother. The God of the Fight was ready for this, what was going to turn into the ultimate fight, in his opinion. ________________
**Hydaoshi simply shook his head, still stunned, still absolutely disbelieving of the misfortune that had just befallen him. He really couldn’t comprehend this. It wasn’t fair – what the hell had he done to deserve this? He turned, moved to try and slink away from them all. He supposed that if he were needed he’d be called back. He just needed some space, some time away from these maniacs. At least Tararus was unconscious. That was something.**
**Synn didn’t stop him. Hydaoshi wasn’t his problem anymore. Let Kadum take control if he wanted to. Hmm. Kadum’s point of having the ultimate traitor of the angels was noted though. He couldn’t blame him for that. A nod of his head was given – he had no real qualms with lending Tararus out for a little longer.**
“Very well. Keep him for as long as you require.”
**Nothing more was needed. Synn could feel something on the air – could spot Slare’s approach. He could do without that kind of trouble – it’d attract his brother and that was something he could well do without. The Shadow God faded back into the shadows, faded as quickly as he’d arrived.**
**Of course, this gave Orias the perfect chance to resume his previous task – one where he’d been asked to attack Kadum and Tararus. It seemed to him that at the moment, Kadum was the important one to dispose of. Tararus was unconscious already and could wait. He pulled himself back to his full height, stepping over Saine’s unconscious form easily and snarling low under his breath. He, just like Slare and supposedly Luca, was ready to fight again – as ever.** ______________

"Hydaoshi! Keep Orias away from me!"
Kadum was quick to call upon his newest pawn, so caught up in what was happening around him he didn't even sense his brother coming near, it wasn't until Slare loomed in the door that he swallowed hard.
"Why Slare what a pleasure..."
Slare merely glared as he stepped in, blades flashing in the dim cavern light, his eyes never leaving Kadums, and he never uttering a word.
"You there, with Orias. Cease this nonsense immediately."[i]
Words quiet, clipped, eyes narrowed. The God of the Fight was seriously p*ssed off, and was about to finally give Kadum a much needed case of judgement.
[i]"Kadum, I am your judge, jury, and executioner. I judge you to be guilty of more sins than any human could recall, and that I know of only because I am cursed to be your brother. I judge that your punishment is death, by my hand, for the death of my love, and our child. Four hundred years Kadum, and you thought I would give up? Go to hell."
Slare lept at his brother, dodging Orias and Hydaoshi, Kadum lept aside. "Hydaoshi! Protect me!"
"NO! No one interferes. Orias, take your brother, and you two do as you wish with him. Luca is waiting outside. Do anything he tells you, and disregard anything that is told to you by anyone other than he and I at this point. Please." [/ i]
All this said as Slare walked towards Kadum. Cat and mouse. Death, and victim. Oh, Kadum was not going to live through this in the least. _________________
**As Orias made those steps toward Kadum, he cursed lightly under his breath. He’d called for Hydaoshi. The coward had called for him. He’d half-expected it. Obviously the God couldn’t fight his battles on his own. Of course, Hydaoshi was as obliged to obey as he was and so he didn’t blame him for the attack that came. Hydaoshi had barrelled himself into his side, knocked him off-course. Given the general size and strength of Orias, it did little… but since Hydaoshi was clearly going to get himself in the way, it was enough of a distraction to save Kadum from his wrath.**
**Then… then Slare arrived. It all happened so quickly. Orias was completely still, as he watched. Hydaoshi turned himself from his attack, stood at the larger angel’s side, just watched. Tararus and Saine were both still unconscious, although the scientist was beginning to come round. That was good – at least he was alive. Yet, he was going to be going back to consciousness on his own. Both the angels that were on his side were too wrapped up in the battle of Gods that was going on.**
**Hydaoshi had taken a hesitant step forward when Kadum had called for him – but the order was revoked just as quickly by Slare and he took that step back again, casting a deeply confused glance up to Orias. Hydaoshi was baffled by all of this. What the hell was going on? He half-wished that Synn had stuck around to help out with this… although, he doubted royally that he’d be on their side. Who would he side with?**
**Orias hadn’t needed telling twice when Slare had requested that he take Tararus away, deal with him. He’d turned immediately – only to find his younger brother gone. Bastard. He wouldn’t put it past his luck that Synn had teleported him away – or that he’d come round and retreated by himself. Instead, he turned again, moved to Saine’s side, picking him up instead. He’d rather the scientist be safe. Seemed a good idea to go and find Luca as Slare had said.**
“Come on, Hydaoshi…” ________
Slare advanced on Kadum who merely watched his younger brother, knowing that his time had finally come, that all the crimes he'd committed over time he was finally going to pay for.
And who better to kill him than his own brother?
Slare's face completely emotionless as he continued forward. Kadum not even trying to run. He was tired of running.
Outside Luca motioned to the two Angels, and nodded to Orias. [i]"Slare has an idea that I think will work quite well, and will please the two of you immensly." he turned to Hydaoshi. "I'm Luca, and the one with the weaponry inside is Slare. God of the Fight." He didn't elaborate on what he was.
Moments later Slare stepped out, blood dripping from his weapons, which he quietly cleaned off on the ground before resheathing them. Kadum was dead, and he finally felt at peace for what he'd been forced to suffer at the Elder God's hands.
"I decree that you Orais are no longer subject to any order from ANY God or Goddess. This is unrevokalble by ANYONE, and stands firm for the rest of your life time. To further ensure this, I deem it so any you father, and so on down your traceable bloodline is free from that curse. "This does not extend to siblings and the like of either of you. Tararus is still bound to your laws of obedience. Any previous orders given to you, you are now free to follow of your own free will. My order goes above all others, and of of this moment, you are free."
He then turned to Hydaoshi, and regarded him a moment, before repeating the same statement to him.
Basically he just made it so these two were free from the control of anyone else ever again, and could not be turned into pawns or puppets, and ensuring their family line the same freedom. " It is the best I can do for the two of you, and I hope you use this chance well." _____________
**Free? That really was good. More than they could hope for. Hydaoshi was happy enough to take Saine from Orias’s arms with no more than the lightest bow of his head. He needed to get back to the angel realm and restore whatever chaos had overcome the race. He hesitated, turned to study Slare closely.**
“This… havoc has taught me that perhaps the race would be better off in the hands of a God. They were the ones who were originally meant to run it. I’d rather you take control than that maniac any day. If you ever wanted control, I’d gladly hand it over to you.”
**Orias raced an eyebrow a fraction, watched as the leader-general disappeared without a word. That was a rather unexpected offer. Hydaoshi was known for being fiercely proud of his role as leader. Offering control over was anything but normal for him. Nevertheless, perhaps he was becoming a little tired of everything. Orias was left to look back to Slare and Luca, offer a slight bow of his head in return.**
“We thank you both. Should you ever have need for us again – feel free to seek us out.”
**No more said and he turned to leave himself – not teleporting away like Hydaoshi had done, but just walking off. He was planning to see if he couldn’t track down Tararus – see if he’d actually been taken back under Synn’s wing again or if he’d escaped on his own.** _______
"Rule? No...no..."
Luca was quite amused by this turn of events of course. "Look at it this way Slare, if a God ruled them, then another couldn't come in and force control away from them the way your brother tried." Slare pondered this a moment, and nodded.
"Good point...and maybe...someday. But right now...no. I just spent the last 400 years trying to avenge my lost family...and I just did that. I need to figure out what I'm doing with my life now before I attempt any sort of responsibility of anothers race."
The two conversed a few moments longer before parting ways. "Remember Slare, if you need me, you know how to contact me." Slare merely nodded and walked away, leaving Kadum's headless corpse to rot in that cave, the heavy burden that he normally carried upon his shoulders lifted, and the smallest of smiles upon his lips.
"It only took me 400 years, but now you two may rest in peace knowing Kadum has paid for what he did to you both." his voice was soft as he looked up to the sky, going where the wind took him.
